Maritime RobotX Challenge

RobotX is a community of innovators driven to create substantive contributions to the field of autonomous, unmanned vehicles. All teams are required to use the standard WAM-V surface craft to build their own system, and to solve the tasks designed for autonomous surface vehicles.
Our work
Team NCTU for the Maritime RobotX Challenge is composed of graduate and undergraduate students from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and the Robotics Institute. We participated in the 2018 RobotX competition and were awarded 5th place at the final stage. Our surface vehicle had to solve multiple tasks including autonomous docking, navigation, obstacle avoidance, launch & recovery, scan code, and acoustic pinging.
I was an undergraduate student on the NCTU team back in 2018. I participated in building the electronics on the boat, powering multiple sensors and computation units and connecting them through a network system.
